Dash cam power feed......

    Does anyone know what fuse or fuse location I can use for power to a dash cam set up that won't cause issues with the canbus system ?

    I am gonna hardwire it in, but don't want to cause issues doing so., and i also don't want to have to tap in mid stream (splice).

    I know I have my radar detector wired though my rear view mirror. I imagine you can do the same. Just have to find the power socket and the ground....been years since I have done this, I will try to find the wiring for that.

    Not so sure...the wiring harness for the dash cam has a 15A fuse in it.....and the mirror is also 15A

    The 'fuses' in the harness are the mini kind, and for some reason not replaceable....so I may just cut them off, have to see how things work out.

    I just didn't want to have to go all the way back to the battery.....

    What ever happened to fuse panels under the dash that are easy to get to for this type stuff ???

    The one I downloaded had an index drop down in PDF format. I dont think the index appears in Drop Box

    Is there a free manual available for more recent years that might be a reference manual close to my 2020?

    In the past I’ve gotten away with using a fuse tap on things that aren’t always permanent. I run them on the power feed to my radar detectors.
