Here is a classic example of a drag race where the faster car loses due to a poor driver.

In the case, a Challenger Demon was racing against a Porsche 911 Turbo S. The Demon should be almost 2 seconds faster than the Porsche's 11.2 sec. time in the quarter. However, the Demon gets embarrassed because its driver smokes the tires all the way down the track!

Can’t blame the driver. That’s just what happens when you try to put down that much power in a RWD car without a prepped drag strip. That exact scenario has played out thousands of times over the years in any number of cars that have way more power than they can transfer to the pavement they’re on at the time. Hell, I’ve had it happen to me plenty of times over the years, most recently in my Scat Pack, I can only imagine how much it happens to guys in Hellcats and Demons.
