I always preferred the Challenger in the 'looks' department but I wanted to see if the Charger performed better or similar. Also the general feel between the two.

I test drove both over the years and twice at the Greenville SC auto shows. I felt that the Charger drove 'bigger' and I have no idea why. Maybe it was the 4 doors or the suspension or interior layout? It was my impression each time I compared the two. Perhaps I was just recalling the old feel of the 1st gen.

Does anyone have both models or what were your thoughts when test driving both??

^^ Thank you. That helps explain my feelings. I would not have expected it to have a longer wheel base or to be heavier.

I would think that the main reason why the Charger is heavier is the two rear doors and their crash beams.

    We've owned both ... From 2013 to 2016 we had a 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic and a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T Plus.

The Charger was one of the best all around cars we've owned. Great road car and got better highway mileage than my Challenger R/T.

This year I've had both a 21 Charger and a 21 Challenger. Both have been great cars and if you have a small family, the Charger is a clear winner! But if not, the Challenger Scat Pack is a clear winner in my opinion! It seems to be quicker by far, and seems to handle better in both track and sport mode. The Charger felt "bigger", but also handled "bigger". Trunks are about the same. Charger is now gone and I am very happy with my Challenger!

I currently own both. My daily driver is a 2018 Charger SXT. My weekend toy is a 2020 Challenger Scat Pack (my 3rd since 2011). The Charger drives like a big sedan should. The Challenger drives like a beastly muscle car should. I love them both. Now I just want a Ram 4x4 to complete my collection. [IMG]

Got the Challenger because I wanted a 6s, Just got the wife a Jeep Wrangler 4XE so the Charger will be stored for the winter.
