Motor Trend ran an article on the new Corvette E-Ray in its May 2023 issue. The hybrid sportscar will be available for purchase in mid 2023 and sell from $104,295-$111,295. It stated the following: "The E-Ray sits between the Z51 and Z06 in the Corvette lineup. That means it's a sportier offering than the base engine C8 when equipped with the Z51 performance package. A 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V-8 still sits behind the seats making 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, but Chevrolet juices up the Corvette E-Ray with 160 more hp and 125 additional lb-ft thanks to an electric motor driving the front wheels, for a total of 655 hp and 595 lb-ft of torque. With its electric all-wheel-drive system, the E-Ray will blast from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and run the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, according to Chevrolet. From our First Ride review, we can confirm that the E-Ray launches hard and with little drama. During a 0-105 mph launch, we could feel the extra grip of the electric motor driving the front wheels. The Corvette E-Ray can easily get sideways too, which Chevy proved on a giant autocross cone course and on a drift circle, thanks to its 125-lb-ft front/470-lb-ft rear torque split. Although the E-Ray is a different beast from the Z06, it's still a beast nonetheless." 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Prices, Reviews, and Photos - MotorTrend
