LOL some people hate the strange "exhaust noise" from the Banshee, but, hey, it sounds cooler than a Tesla!

Here is the exhaust sound (start at 8:15 minute mark).

This is how Dodge describes it:

"Dodge is giving the Charger Daytona a real exhaust system called the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which uses tuning chambers and an amplifier at the back of the car to enhance the powertrain's natural noises. The Charger Daytona's sound apparently equals the current Hellcat powertrain in terms of decibels generated -- no small feat. It's even able to "rev" while at a standstill, producing a distinctive noise that will absolutely capture the attention of everyone around you.

Noise is inextricably tied to muscle cars like the Charger and Challenger. A silent muscle car indeed would have been bizarre, and the solution may be equally so—126 dB of exhaust noise from an “industry-first” feature that Dodge is calling the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust. Using sensor data and a computer that calculates everything from throttle position to vehicle speed and motor load, the Fratzonic system then generates a synthetic sound based on the “cadence of a Hemi V-8,” as one spokesperson told The Drive. It then goes into an amplifier and out of a more or less familiar exhaust system, which essentially acts in part as a kind of resonator."

I'd like to see some numbers on it, as far as 0-60 and 1/4. I saw it reported that the fastest car you can currently buy was an electric Mustang that is strictly for the track and not street legal. No idea if that's true, but I did see that claim made. I've seen lots of Teslas beat up on Hellcats too. I have no interest in an electric car, but there's a market out there.

I would guess that the most powerful version (probably close to 1,000 hp.) will do 0-60mph. in the high 2s or very low 3s.

What is interesting about electric motors is how much more torque than hp they have.
Did you know turbine engines have their peak torque at zero RPM? (So I've read, anyway.)

It seems that people are finally uncovering the corpse of hydrogen power, so this seems to be the motivation behind the sudden decision by those in power to pay people to buy an electric car.

Here is an excerpt from Mopar Insiders:

"Several internet sources, including a few of our own, have stated that an entry-level Challenger or Charger could have somewhere in the ballpark of 550 horsepower. That would be more than the ICE options and a significant jump over the current cars’ naturally-aspirated HEMI engines. And thanks to Stellantis’ EV Day 2021 presentation, we do know that the company will offer outputs ranging from 150 kW to 330 kW (201 to 443 horsepower) on its Electric Drive Module (EDM) #3 e-motors that will be offered on STLA Large architecture. That means, more than likely, the entry-level BEV offering will come standard with AWD.

We also expect to keep costs down, Dodge will more than likely offer the entry option with a 400-volt architecture. Something that would be on par with the Tesla Model 3.

Dodge’s sibling brand Maserati, recently showed off its all-electric GranTurismo Folgore grand-tourer with a total output of 750 horsepower. There is no doubt, that Dodge would offer something similar in power for its mid-range offerings, given the output of its e-motors and AWD offering. It would be a great compromise to today’s entry-level HELLCAT models.

Considering the base 2023 Tesla Model S has a total output of 670 horsepower from dual e-motors, it doesn’t sound unrealistic."

Here is an excerpt of an article from Mopar Insiders about another version of the Daytona:

In just under a month, the automotive industry will swarm to the Las Vegas Convention Center for the 2022 Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. Dodge has already announced that its final 2023 “Last Call” commemorative edition model will not be showcased at the event due to product and supply challenges, but we have since learned about something else Dodge has planned for the trade show.

In a recent interview with Autoline After Hours, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis announced that the brand would be showcasing another version of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee at SEMA.

“Stay tuned for SEMA this year,” Kuniskis said. “We’re going to show a different version of this car at SEMA. Because we know it’s absolutely critical to our buyers, 50% of them modify their cars today.”

“So at SEMA, we are going to show you a different flavor of this, a different look, [and a] different feel to this car and we’re also going to talk about how and why we launch Direct Connection well in advance on ICE (internal combustion engine) so that we could transition to electrification,” he stated.

During Dodge Speed Week events, Kuniskis explained that the Direct Connection catalog would offer additional power levels for those who crave more performance. “The Charger Daytona will launch with three power levels, all the way up to this 800-volt Banshee system,” Kuniskis said during the event. “But we’re also developing nine power levels through Direct Connection.”

“Direct Connection is also going to allow our drivers to unlock the features they want,” he continued. “Like a slam mode, drift mode, drag mode, and yep even a donut mode.”

With features like the patent-pending Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system, we expect Direct Connection to offer customizable sounds, as well.

“People are going to want to modify their cars regardless of what is pushing them,” Kuniskis stated.
