So a good thing I permanently turned off Eco Mode, and I'm always in V8 mode?

Start at 17:39 if you don't want to hear this guy ramble on. 1st video.

Turning off eco mode (display) does not deactivate MDS. Consensus seems to be MDS deactivation is not helpful toward safeguarding from a potential lifter/cam lobe failure (MDS lifters in their deactivated state actually receive a great deal of dedicated lubrication as part of the process in keeping them deactivated). Short of a change to a higher capacity oil pump (which reportedly inadvertently deactivates the MDS and triggers a P0524 code) some tuners are bumping up idle rpm (mine's at 800). If true (some claim the issue is much more prevalent post 2008 despite the design being introduced 2003) no one has accounted for why there's a supposed failure increase including 'Reignited'.

Does that Tazer work for MDS? Or does the ECM need to be unlocked.

A tuner, like a Tazer, will disable MDS by putting your car in Sport mode. To permanently disable it will require unlocking the PCM and adjusting the tune after you replace the MDS lifters and remove the solenoids. This will, however, void your warranty.

Another alternative is to put your car in Sport mode every time you start it. You can also shift it manually with your shifter, or if you have them, the paddles. IIRC shifting the car manually keeps MDS off too.

Pre 2015's are unlocked but require the HPTuners (or Diablo if the tune is still factory) device to deactivate the MDS when driving in 'D' on an unlocked unit to perform this yourself. To have a pro tuner do it for you requires taking the car (or ECM) to them, or electronically sending the tuner a saved copy of the tune from the ECM and have it returned once changed (also requiring an HPTuners device to save a copy). The HPTuner can read and copy anyones tune (including a Diablo tune). The Diablo can only make adjustments to a factory tune and a tune that's been previously applied by the same Diablo device. Performing the MDS deactivation on an unlocked unit does not require MDS lifter and solenoid removal. The locked units are more 'challenging' :) but there's lots of sources of direction info available online.

I have a 2019, I have the bypass in the trunk, my fuel mileage tells me i am not using MDS. My car always starts in custom drive mode. No more pushing a button, to turn off Eco.

ECU does not need to be unlocked.

Deactivation of MDS is not being claimed in any listing of Tazer features and not being described in any Tazer reviews.

I am always in custom drive mode, with paddle shifters on, sport transmission, and sport steering. It was said here, in sport mode you are full time V8. I just don't have to activate it every time. Eco mode is disabled. Basically like this I found below.

Just an update on option 4 since I have now received and installed the latest Tazer:
    A) I have not YET been successful in being able to amend the engine mode with the Tazer but I have reached out to Z Automotive as I may need to do a fuse pull for this setting change to take effect. So there may be more to come on this.

    b) You can, however, use the Tazer to change the default startup mode, and that does work. So as long as your startup mode is in a setting where your transmission is in sport or track mode, your MDS will be disengaged from startup, without needing to manually change your drive mode each time you start the vehicle.

MDS does not activate for any of us when we're in a driving mode requiring shifting of our auto trans Challengers. You're describing and enjoying a Tazer feature which keeps you in that mode from startup. Thanks for sharing. Having deactivated my MDS I now have the enjoyment of not having it engage while driving w/out having to manually shift the auto trans.
