On the premier of this year's Fast N' Loud show, Chad McQueen (son of Steve McQueen) requested that Richard Rawlings build him a replica of his father's 1968 Bullitt Mustang, in 32 days, for a recreation of the famous SF chase scene that happened 50 years' ago.

Rawlings pays $26,000 for a 1968 Mustang, in bad shape, with no engine and transmission. His garage then builds a gorgeous replica with a 390 V8 (only this one has two 4-barrel carbs) with a much beefier suspension. The entire cost of the build was out of Rawlings' pocket. He just wanted the publicity for his garage.

The cool thing is that when they were filming the chase scenes, Rawlings and his driver were in a "bad guy black" Challenger Scat Pack (not a Charger).

If you haven't seen this episode, it was on the Discovery channel, on July 8.

    Well maybe for that.
I just find him a little over the top...just my 2 cents

I DVR'd the Mustang premier but haven't watched it yet.
Yeah, Rawlings can be annoying but Aaron was the guy that drove me nuts. He would take what could have been some nice builds and totally wreck them like the Pantera. Installing a 4 cylinder twin turbo EcoBoost with a huge air intake scoop sticking up above the roof???? There were many I just cringed at. They just seemed to be into huge wheels, slamming whatever 'em to the ground and spraying them with flat or satin paint.
Thanks for letting me vent... where's my beer assistant?
