On the premier of this year's Fast N' Loud show, Chad McQueen (son of Steve McQueen) requested that Richard Rawlings build him a replica of his father's 1968 Bullitt Mustang, in 32 days, for a recreation of the famous SF chase scene that happened 50 years' ago. Rawlings pays $26,000 for a 1968 Mustang, in bad shape, with no engine and transmission. His garage then builds a gorgeous replica with a 390 V8 (only this one has two 4-barrel carbs) with a much beefier suspension. The entire cost of the build was out of Rawlings' pocket. He just wanted the publicity for his garage. The cool thing is that when they were filming the chase scenes, Rawlings and his driver were in a "bad guy black" Challenger Scat Pack (not a Charger). If you haven't seen this episode, it was on the Discovery channel, on July 8.
