Today, I took my wife's 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe to Pep Boys for their free tire rotation and alignment check. As expected, they confirmed that the alignment was good. Nice to find a place that is honest and offers a free service. As an aside, they are converting all of their stores to tire and service only. They have discontinued selling auto accessories. Sad. They have been selling automotive parts since 1921. Here are the Many, Moe and Jack founders: Emanuel "Manny" Rosenfeld, Maurice "Moe" Strauss and W. Graham "Jack" Jackson. The store, in Philadelphia, was named after Pep Valve Grinding Compound. By 1982, the Pep Boys chain was comprised of 1,000 stores, with 3,600 service bays. Annual sales were $2 billion. Billionaire and corporate raider Carl Icahn, who bought the chain in 2016, folded it and three other companies (including Horsham-based Aamco Total Auto Care, the transmissions chain) into Icahn Automotive Group, before cutting that into two new companies, separating the stores from the garages.
