Frozen challenger

    My sxt is frozen over and I can’t get into it. The ice buildup won’t allow the window to adjust to open the door. I was going to drive my wife to work, but we are all iced in. I’m a teacher so I’m not working but my wife and daughter called in. I guess that’s a side effect of the doors opening this way. Any one else snowed in

    use remote start to warm the interior up and see if that helps (if you have it)

    I don’t have a remote start. Not sure if wife has a hair dryer. I want to let everyone know that this does not diminish my love for my car. When not frozen, it’s a blast to drive. I’ll try to warm it up tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it goes

    Here are a few ideas to prevent your windows from freezing stuck to the rubber moldings:
    • Use Prestone De-Icer. Spray on the bottom of the windows to melt the ice.
    • Treat the window surface with Rain-X. This should significantly reduce the amount of water build-up around the window, thus reducing the possibility of ice forming.
    • Use Dielectric grease or Krytox GPL 205 grease on the seals.
    • Apply Gummi Pflege on the rubber moldings.
    • Use silicone spray.

    That's the only way around Freezing Rain
    I have got frozen out of my 2000 Ram 2500 and 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee too

    I have found the "PAM" Non Stick Original Cooking Spray works on the Door Seals
    Spray it on a rag and wipe down the seals BEFORE it freezes.
    Usually last all winter
    (Again, I have not had to do it to my Challenger because she is spoiled)

    On the same line of freezing........ a little humor about the cold.
    Three weeks ago my 47y.o. son drove his 2019 VW SUV to Rodchester, NY to visit a college friend for the weekend. This was the weekend that the temperature went down to near zero. His VW dash code came on stating a misfire. So he took it to a VW dealer and had to leave it there for service. He rented a Toyota to return to PA. He asked if he could borrow my Challenger while his car was in the shop. I was in FL at the time so I said sure, just be careful on slick roads. Now the funny part....
    He texted my wife and said after driving my Challenger the first time, his penis grew three inches and his wife wants him to buy one for himself.

    The VW code was produced because of the cold and was not reproducable by the dealer.

    To 70-426_10-srt, I’m in a situation where I can’t build a garage. Hypothetically I do have a two car garage but I have a lot of tools and equipment on one side and my wife’s mustang gt on the other side. Her car barely fits in there, so I don’t think my sxt will fit.
    To Ed bandics, my penis hasn’t grown three inches longer, but I’m getting a lot of compliments from church, my students (I’m a teacher ( some how the whole student body knows what I drive)) and my wife. She loves riding it with me , which arousals her. Which makes us both happy.
