How long do you let the new oil drain from the jug to capture every drop? Be honest!

Ten seconds? A minute? Have an assistant hold it upside down till they vocalize their dismay?

You will get a lot of answers on this. I let my warmed up oil drain for about 2 minutes after I remove the oil filler cap. Some say 15-30 minutes and others overnight.

My rule of thumb is when the oil drips every 20 seconds. Any small amount of used oil left in the block will be totally diluted by the fresh 6 quarts.

Of greater importance is the quality of the new oil and filter.

As far as new oil, I have a large funnel that a 1 litre bottle sits inside. I turn the bottle into the funnel and let it drain while I do something else on the car. Probably tipped for 5-10 minutes each.
I actually drain the old oil out over night. Both these are because I do it once a year when the car goes to bed for winters nap.

^^^ Same here with the funnel. I let it sit until next to nothing left in the jug.

^^^ Same as the two posts above.

I turn the quart bottle upside down in my oil can and let it drain while I get the next quart ready. By the time I putter around with things, there's barely a few drops remaining. After all ... my frugality (cheapness) wants to make sure that I get my money's worth out of every quart.

I buy my oil in 5-qt. jugs, so I can only pour it in slowly with a funnel.

Do you guys know what brand I use?

Back when I did my own changes I would set each quart upside down and let them drain into my old pump oil can. I'd do it over a Saturday afternoon, so probably a good 1/2 hr per bottle.
