In its August 2017 issue, Car & Driver tested five 245/40R-18 max summer performance tires using a BMW 430i. Here were the rankings: 1. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S (149 points)-300AAA, $198 2. Continental Extreme Contact Sport (144 points)- 340AAA, $164 3. Pirelli P Zero (125 points)-220AAA, $153 4. Hankook Ventus V12 EVO02 (113 points)-320AAA, $156 5. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 (103 points)-240AAA, $180* *It still amazes me that Goodyear, an expensive tire, almost always comes in last in tire tests, yet it is the biggest name in motor sport racing.
I don't recommend Pirelli p zeros. I didn't get a whole season on them and wasn't hard on them if anyone's asking. I switched to MT street comps and so far so good at only 200 bucks a tire 275/40r/20
I run Firestone Indy 500 245/45/20 all four corners. never had a problem with them lasting, as my last set went over 33,000 miles, but I changed them out anyways cause they had been on the car for almost 5 years, the ride started to get a little rougher with age. sold them to a guy for $100 , bought another set same thing and I know they will do me good again. they have great grip in the rain and good traction overall. thinking I may go to 275's in the rear next time
