I have a 2018 382 R/T SP Shaker and I am installing the MSD 8963 programmable shift light. I am wondering if anyone has installed this or one similar? I don’t have a wiring diagram and basically just need to know the color of the positive wire on a particular coil? Any help appreciated before I dive in.

    Not since the 80's :)

Was just thinking about looking for one, or building one for my SRT.

If you want to POST a pic of the diagram (and when you get done :) ),
we can point out what go where, but should be labeled.

    RED is usually 12+
Green or Black is always GROUND.
They usually use Blue or Yellow for signal.

Not sure that is where you want to take it from.

Saw a few people trying of the injector, but I would look for a wire off the ECU.

So, did you get it working, or do you have to order that part?

GlowShiftDirect.com has an Old School light but also says it needs a tach adapter for our multi-coil cars

I called MSD, the GMR has that comes with the light has to go on a positive wire on a coil pack. Doesn’t matter which one obviously. That’s what the instructions said but I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do the wire checking. Tomorrow I will get the wires straight and post the setup.

I have an update hope this can help someone in the future. The GMR connects to the Brown wire with yellow stripe on any coil pack. The GMR doesn’t close very tight on a single wire so I doubled it. Obviously there are a lot of ways into the car I just went through the hood release boot. I will post more pictures tomorrow of my mounting location. Going off the cigarette lighter for 12v and will ground wherever is easiest. [IMG]
