Live in the Tacoma Washington area. 77 years young. Finally took delivery of my 2022 Challenger GT, AWD, indigo blue, from Illinois. Installed billboards. Did muffler delete, and it's a little louder then I like. I may add some baffles later. BUT, the ride is really harsh. The other cars I test drove felt real good, but I wasn't able to test drive this one till it got here. Maybe because it's AWD. Tires are 245/45x20 at 32psi. Anything I can do to soften the ride. Any suggestions for a tuner and cold air intake? I'm trying to load some pictures but I'm having some trouble.
Any of your suspension not stock (shocks /struts). If your looking to tune it there are probably multiple options. Two Tuners come to mind for the 3.6 , Demigod & Livernois. They can give you a tune remotely or I believe Livernois sells a device with tunes on it for plug & play That being said you will need to unlock your PCM (which means you would need to either buy a new PCM from Dodge or take yours out and send it out to HP Tuners to unlock it. You may want to call the tuner names I provided above for a bit better explanation, with a tune from those to vendors you can expect about 40hp 40tq to the rear wheels possibly up to 50 . With 93 octane.
When I test drove my car, I decide to take a GT out for grins. It pretty much has a basic car suspension, you might want to get some good shocks like Fox, or Bilsteins.
Unfortunately with the AWD cars you are very limited to Bilstein for the rear only, Bilstein doesn't make them for the AWD yet. I contacted them to request production for the front AWD cars. I doubt that will go to far. The stock struts & shocks for the AWD cars are made by Sachs. They give a firm ride.
You learn something new every day. So wouldn't putting Bilsteins in the rear help? I put them on the back of my pickup and it helped with the ride.
Welcome back. Did you ever check out the fantastic designer interviews? If not, I recommend that you watch them. They really give you incredible insight into how the retro-styled Challenger evolved from the drawing board to reality. 2008 Challenger Designer Interview -- Segment 1 - YouTube 2008 Challenger Designer Interview -- Segment 2 - YouTube 2008 Challenger Designer Interview -- Segment 3 - YouTube Designer Interview ; Segment 4 - 2009 Challenger - YouTube Designer Interview; Segment 6 - 2009 Challenger - YouTube Dodge Challenger: Exterior Styling - YouTube Challenger Designers - Castiglione and Barrington, Part 1 - YouTube Challenger Designers - Castiglione and Barrington, Part 2 - YouTube Challenger Designers - Castiglione and Barrington, Part 3 - YouTube Challenger Designers Castiglione and Barrington Pt. 4 - YouTube Challenger Designers Castiglione and Barrington Pt. 5 - YouTube Challenger Designers - Castiglione and Barrington, Part 6 - YouTube Challenger Designers - Castiglione and Barrington, Part 7 - YouTube
I put the Bilsteins in the rear , just hoping they will produce front ones soon. Be cautious ordering on line for the AWD (struts). Two years ago I did order a set of 4 Bilsteins and the company web site said they were for AWD cars too but they were incorrect for the front, and it's pretty obvious once you look @ a parts manual..
welcome to the club, not knowing what kind of tire you have on the car a different brand of tire will also change the ride too.
