From what I heard, the applicant needed a document signed my the parent saying the kid passed a drivers ed class, had driven and logged 40 (or 50) times with a licensed driver and vouches that the kid is competent to drive.
    Talk about scary.

I drive 300 or so miles each day around metro Atlanta. The qualifications for a drivers license is a joke anyway.Three snow flakes falling from the sky shuts the city down. But five inches of rainfall in a day just makes them drive all the faster and more wreckless. I guess they get in a hurry to get home off the wet roads.

guess that would be anywhere in the south where snow is not the norm. Here is Louisiana it is the same way.

My in-laws live in Georgia so I spend a fair amount of time in the state. Pretty sure they view the "rules of the road" more like they're just suggestions. I'm guessing that the previous driving test was if the student could (a) fog a mirror and (b) showed up reasonably sober --- or at least brought the instructor a "roadie."

Around the greater Cleveland, OH area we don't have problems with 5" of snow or heavy rainfalls. It's the ten sunny days a year that trip us up. Sun glare hits us like a deer in headlights. Morning rush hour has a ton of accidents traveling east and hardly any traveling west. If you ever run out of sunscreen, buy it up here. There's always a ton on the shelves. lol
