My passenger seat is stuck almost all the way back, except it does move up one position or so, which is really annoying for passengers when I brake or accelerate.

I've read about a couple of other people having problems with their passenger seat. One guy said he could get it to move by using both the bar under the front and the handle at the upper back and pushing forward, but that doesn't work for me. It will move back and forth about an inch, maybe 1.5, that's it.

Another guy said there was supposed to be a cable beside the seat near the driver, but I don't see one on mine. Could that be the problem?

Here's some pictures, but I'm not sure how helpful they are. I sure can't see what's wrong. My driver side seat is controlled electronically, but this one is manual.

    Might be binding.

Just unbolt the rails off the floor and pull the seat.
Much easier to trouble shoot and see what is going on out of the car.

Did you try the latch by the headrest?
That is how I move it forward to put anything in the back seat.

I mostly figured this out without unbolting the chair (the bolts aren't easy to get to). It's not fixed, but at least I was able to move the chair to a better spot, and lock it in place so it doesn't move around when I accelerate/brake anymore.

I noticed some rusty parts (you can see in the third picture above), so I got some WD-40 rust killer stuff:

Sprayed that on there and let it soak for a bit, and that allowed me to manipulate the mechanism manually:

If I hold that little lever up like in the final picture, and at the same time pull the latch by the headrest, hold the bar at the front, and push the chair back (all of that quite a feat with only two hands), I'm able to move the chair. Now I have it set to a reasonable spot, and it's not moving back and forth anymore, so I can have passengers again! As long as I tell them not to move the chair.

Mine was stuck all the way forward for awhile. I brought it to the dealer and it took them weeks to get in a replacement seat rail but it is finally fixed.
