I recently got an incorrect gear ratio 3rd gear code, so I assumed and ammco told me I need a a replaced or rebuilt tranny so I took it to a shop and got a new tranny and its still throwing the same code and doing the same thing. It feels like I'm in one gear the whole time I'm driving, so now I've wasted thousands of dollars on a tranny I didn't need . So now my car is still at the shop and nobody know what the problem is. Does anyone have a flow chart or know where I should look first?

The trans shop that you took the car to should own this problem. If I understand your post, you brought it in to them with a DTC, not shifting correctly and another trans shop (AAMCO - lets not go there...) said you needed a rebuild or trans replacement. They should have troubleshot the problem before replacing the trans.
If the new (rebuilt?) trans didn't resolve the problem, the shop should re-install your original trans and not charge you or at least split the labor.

They should have looked at the Transmission Control Module first instead of selling you a whole new tranny. That's just bad troubleshooting right there.

Your problem may be caused by a faulty shift solenoid or a faulty powertrain module. These two things should have been looked at first before a new transmission was installed.

(Note- The powertrain control module uses the information it receives from multiple sensors that gather and calculate data, such as vehicle speed, throttle position, engine RPM, and other measures to determine which ratio a particular gear should have. If there is a difference between the desired gear ratio and the actual gear ratio (multiple times) a Check Engine Light will be illuminated).

OK so what is my issue ? Incorrect gear ratio is usually a transmission problem no? Also could it have something to do with using a diablo i3 tuner on the car ?

Diagnosing specific DTC's can be tedious and it usually takes experienced professionals to do so. In your case, as I mentioned in your other thread, the problem could be very simple but it could also be complicated. There's no way for you to diagnose this via an internet forum. I get it that you're frustrated, but you need to deal with a good shop to fix this.

yep, with all systems with these cars now being controlled by some module or computer. they should have diagnosed it first before doing anything that says replace.
