Rodent Damage- Soy-Based Wires

    In recent years, an increasing number of automakers have turned to soy-based wiring as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional petroleum-based wires. While this innovation boasts several benefits, it has also led to an unforeseen issue – attracting rodents like mice, rats, and other pests that chew on these wires, causing substantial damage and costly repairs.

    There are several car makes that use this type of wiring. Here are three Chrysler/Dodge models that do:

    Chrysler Journey
    Jeep- Cherokee
    Dodge- Pacifica

    Remember, rodent-chewed wires on a car fall under comprehensive coverage, which is part of a full coverage auto insurance policy. This type of coverage handles non-collision-related incidents, and you will typically be responsible for paying your deductible before the insurance company covers the remaining costs.

    I have repaired many over the years and they pay 100% and it does not change your insurance premium unless you have had many...
