My friend I got my ‘66 street HEMI from had a ‘65 RACE HEMI.
What I remember was the 2-piece intake. The carbs sat at an angle vers mine that sat straight. It had tube headers vers my coool CAST. And of course higher compression. Could defiantly hear the diff running side by side.
Never got to drive his :(

Now going to have to read the link and see what they had to say.

    Good artical.
    Forgot about the aluminum heads.
And yes, the valve covers did clear the power steering on my ‘70 Challenger. But mine were Chrome, not Black. But my friend probably had them chromed to match the ones on his Race Hemi.
I remember all we had to do is swap the K-members and the thing bolted right in place of the 383. Even the torsion bars cleared the exhaust.

Here is a pic of the cool intake.
The extra holes were to get to the mounting bolts.
