Here is a good example of the adage that "there's always someone faster."

How would you like to spend $1.9 million on a 1,001 hp Bugatti Veyron, with a 253 mph top speed, and get smoked by a Nissan GT-R Switzer P800?

I posted that on challengertalk last night. It isn't a stock GTR. It is tuned by Switzer to over 1000hp. The tuning package is $60K. They call it "The Veyron-ator"

How fast you want to go depends on how deep your pockets are.

I figured it was tuned. When he bolted like he did on the second race, there is no way it could have been stock. Even it being $60k for the tuned add on, the gtr and tune costs are still alot cheaper then the $1.9 mill they spent on the bugatti

reminds me of a time, long long ago, in a land far far away (Texas)... I was cruising tee-tops off, in my Nissan 300ZX (50thAnnivEd)... doing 145 MPH...
you know the feeling... I OWNED THE WORLD.. my grin was so wide you couldn't shake it off... all alone, mountain-to-mountain road out in West Texas Big Bend country...
and got BLOWN AWAY by a F-something-or-other jet. Came buzzing down on me from behind, literally just a few hundred feet above me and my buddy, and then shot straight up so that we got the 'burn' of his afterburner! LOL
Talk about taking the wind outta your sails! Slowed right down to 70. It was a real buzz-kill for sure! Top of the mountain, to bottom of the pile in .0001 sec :)

It reminds me of a story I heard when I was young. I met a man with a Shelby GT500. He told me of a night in Minnesota where he was driving with some friends and came across a nice looking 32 Ford with a chromed out rear diff on the highway. He was bragging to his friends "watch me beat this guy". As the story went they both pulled hard to about 120 and he figured that now was when he would pull away. He got up close enough to see the blower belt spinning, heard the exhaust cut-outs open.....and the the Duece left him like he was parked. I loved that story

Enjoy, and happy new year to all
