The trailer's I've seen suggest it will fall well short of the original (beginning with the casting of Jon Hamm).

You mean Mach 1. Mach 10 is hypersonic- 3,806–7,680 mph.

I will have to see the movie. Mach 10 sounds unbelievable. The world's fastest jet is the Blackbird. it could reach speeds exceeding Mach 3.2 (around 2,200 mph).

I have seen it. Excellent movie. Except they never really revealed who were the bad guys in the other planes like in the first movie which was the Russians. Perhaps in this movie also as they had the red dot on rear tail? Great music with the right timing.

 

Some guys have asked why Kelly McGillis was not in the film. Well, although she is only 5 years older than Tom Cruise, she hasn't aged well and has put on a lot of weight. She looks like his grandmother.
