I look forward to winter skiing, and the novelty of my Challenger come spring. Be just like getting a new car all over again. BTW, nice couple of cars you have.
Autocross is fun. Your track looks like more fun than driving around cones. I was driving a Hyundai. I haven't tried one of my Challengers.
autocross we are usually in the bottom 1/3 timewise, ive been close to halfway a couple times, been close to bottom slowest too- but not last yet - not racing so its all just for fun... dragway 42's ASCC autocross is sortof unique- weve been doing it about 5-6 yrs, and its more of a road course- usually they keep slaloms/chicago box obstacles enough to limit speeds to highway speeds or so, but still, some faster cars are 80-90 in stretches...slaloms 45-60 mph, tightening slaloms might get you down to 30, but the entire time its a edge of traction experience- not the typical 'sea of cones' and you basically cant 'get lost' if you blow thru a cone or two...speeds are high enough, you do not want to hit a cone, they can scuff/crack things...great thing is your 15+ seconds apart, so its just you and your car to worry about, not much to hit unless you go off and grass is wet...one guy plowed a tree a few years ago, he was ok but car was scrap- trees always win... still though likely safer than most on-ramps, and definitely will make you a better driver, highly recommend it, good/clean fun, safe as possible... The TNIA thing at pittrace was cool, but not quite my cup of tea...buddy with a z06 was topping out at 155, but having to pass (point-bys only for safe passing) but i didnt feel passing was my thing, so just stayed in the pack pacing, and if we came up on a slower car, pulled off to pit a few seconds to open a gap...still never got past 115 as just didnt feel comfortable passing...even at only 115 and a car length or two apart, a lot can go wrong... we were in novice, zero incidences, but intermediate and advanced each had one go into the walls that day- ouch...no one hurt, but one car was pretty damaged, likely beyond economical repair... If we ever go back, i might wait for their time trial nights where cars are spaced apart so you can just go without worry of passing or being passed and things going wrong, think without traffic, 125-130 in the challenger should be possible, even with my slow butt behind the wheel
Autocross is fun. When I attended the SRT Experience, with my 2009 Challenger, I finished first and won a small trophy.
They have a program like that at Limerock. You put your car in second gear, and run the track while an instructor radios you on moves. Hopefully will get their next spring, and even the 1/4 mile at Lebanon Valley would be fun.
