So, as the forum says, I am a prospective Challenger owner.

I have my eye on one, and to my surprise it is optioned with the 1320...although this one does have the rear seats/belts.

Is there a history of how the cars been driven? Like top speed, 1/4 mile run times, etc. I am curious how much the owner beat up on the car.

    Thanks.

I know guys who have unlocked those features using a Tazer, but I don't know if that model records those things automatically or not. My SXT Plus Challenger doesn't record the top speed or top 1/4 mile time, but does record your 0-60 time. I bought my car used with 4100 miles on it and found that the 0-60 feature was never used by them. I used it a little but then bought a Dragy GPS based timer because I wanted something more accurate. My car has 4.2 for my best 0-60 time, but it was really 4.35 according to the Dragy. Not sure if the 1320 has a 1/4 mile timer or not, but if it did I would probably doubt the accuracy.

I found an interesting 9k mile 1320. Original Nexens in the front. The rear, not so much...ha ha.

My 2009 SRT came with the following performance pages: 0–60 mph time, 60–0 mph braking, g-forces and ¼-mile time.

I've got a 2021 1320. It does have 0-60 and 1/4 mile timers. I've tried the 0-60 a couple of times. Have taken mine to the track a good half-dozen times, with several runs each. I've got about 8,300 miles on mine. Just had my 2nd oil change done and a rear diff service, to get rid of the factory fluid since I track mine. I wouldn't worry if the previous owner raced it - that's what it's made for! Everything is beefed up from that of a regular scat pack. I've had zero issues with mine. When not at the track, it's driven sometimes spirited, with brief acceleration runs, but mostly I baby it on the road. I'm just about to replace my rear tires. Down to about 1/16th of an inch above the wear bars. Ran three dodge/Mopar Hemi Shootout races last year and one so far this year, rotated the tires in between. Still have life on the front, probably enough for the next two races worth when I swap the fronts to the rear. Original factory set. Hope my experience helps your decision.

When I bought my 2016 ScatPack Shaker used, for some reason I didn't focus that much on the timers and such, so I did not know about checking that stuff. So, when I got it home I was playing with the toys and found the top speed history and it had not been cleared. It read 172 mph. So it is safe to say mine was broken in. It only had 18000 miles and a new set of tires.

Well....this thread gave me lots to think about....interesting how a guy who owns a 1320(assume guy) would not buy one used.

I recently drove a 2019 R/T with 66k miles on it....I wanted to get an idea of what would wear out on the interior, where would the engine be dirty on the inside, what would be leaking(When the car is moved from its parking spot for the test drive, I check the spot for leaks), how badly the front spoiler is damaged. I never would have guessed 66k miles. No squeaks. No wear. No leaks.

When this 1032 showed up, 10k miles, it was also like new(as it should be). Carfax was in good shape. I drove it, freeway, over many bots dots. It seemed great to me. I am concerned about the rear tires being replaced...although I don't think there is a way of telling if the rears came to the front and then replaced. But my wife rarely gets 15k on a set of tires....

I am thinking if Dodge is willing to guarantee 3/36 and 6/60, I figure it has a good shot to end up in my garage. I will wait the dealer out to get my price though...try to use $6/gal gas to my favor.

Greatly appreciate the input. It did help.

Joe - Yes, I am indeed a guy lol. And I do get what you're saying - I'm picky as well. I wanted my challenger to be brand new, because I've seen plenty of videos (and heard plenty of stories) of people absolutely trashing these cars. Also, I just wanted it brand new after waiting for 14 years to finally get my chance and buy my dream muscle car. So, I get it.

I don't trash my vehicles and I'm extremely picky on treating them well and maintaining them well. That being said, from a standpoint of you potentially buying a used challenger model specifically made for the drag strip, I wouldn't overly sweat it. It's been engineered to do it. Granted that doesn't mean that the extra wear and tear won't cause a problem somewhere, but I think it's much less than with a regular scat pack that may have been tracked.

If I were looking at a used one today, knowing what I know about the car and my personal experience from brand new thus far, including reports from other 1320 owners who've been down the track far more times than I have, one set of rear tires worn down and a mere 10k miles wouldn't scare me off in the slightest. I just put a new set on the rear on mine today. And for 8300 miles of street driving + a few times per year track use, on drag radials that wear very fast no matter what you do, I'd say I got plenty of life out of them and would hazard to guess the car your interested in is in no way close to being in bad shape or overly-abused. I would say go for it, if the price is right and your test drive and/or any other inspection you may do or may have done is satisfactory.

My 2016 Challenger Scat Pack also had the 172mph on it. It was never driven that fast. That is used in the factory calibration.
There's nowhere around that the Challenger could be run that fast and long enough to log that kind of number. My car only had 46 miles on it when I bought it.
