Drag racing requires brains, a giant SET of balls, and reflexes. The reflexes great racers have exceed any sport solely based on human power because of compounding speed. Guys like Tony Schumacher, Jhon Force, and Don Prudomme are freaks of nature. It’s exciting watch gladiators toe the line a nano second away from death. Not that I wish that on anyone however the risk is there. Racers that walk out of the car laugh at the ferryman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Funny you should mention drag racing. We went to PBIR last night to check out a “roll racing” event. Thank God they actually had some “dig” racing as well. IMO, “roll racing” is stupid. I see no point to it. There were some fast cars there though, and one particular race that blew everyone away. In the “dig” racing group, a Hellcat lined up against what appeared to be a stock GMC Yukon Denali. The lights came down and the Denali smoked the Hellcat! The crowd went nuts!
Well, a few things come to mind... Did the Denali use AWD ? What gears were in it ? What engine was in it ? Was it a diesel ? I know of a guy who has a gas 6.0 with a turbo on it and he is pushing 600 rwhp on 8 psi, and 900 on 16......
Oh believe me, that Denali was far from stock. I cruised the pits and staging area trying to find it but he was gone. I was dying to find out more about that vehicle. I would say no on the diesel and hard to say about the AWD or turbo. There’s a better than even chance it was AWD. It launched hard and rearward weight transfer was huge but there was little to no wheel spin. Trim height was a little low but even front to rear but on launch it looked like a half ton pickup with a ton on the tailgate! Whoever built that thing knows how to build a sleeper.
