I just stopped at my county dump where they have a vehicle scale and my car** with me inside weighed in at 4480 lbs and a little less than half-tank of gas. I weigh 230 lbs, so that puts the car's weight at ~4250 lbs, which was a pleasant surprise because I was actually expecting it to be a little more being a nearly fully loaded widebody. Is the Tremec manual transmission significantly lighter than the 8-spd auto?

Manual transmissions weigh a little less than automatics.

For 2021, a 6.2 Hellcat automatic weighs 4,443 lbs. Its manual version weighs 4,428 lbs.- 15 lbs. less.

Typically, a manual transmission weights can range between 70 to 110 pounds, depending on the make and model. For smaller vehicles like compact cars, you can expect the weight to be closer to the lower end of that range, while larger vehicles, such as full-size trucks, tend to have heavier transmissions around 90 to 110 pounds.

Automatic transmissions tend to be slightly heavier than manual transmissions. On average, these weigh between 100 and 400 pounds, with most landing in the 150 to 250-pound range.

Note- Widebody trim adds 24 lbs.
