    I formulate oils for a living and had to adjust formulations for turbo applications in the past due to oil oxidation at the shaft bearing leading to plugging of the oil return line which starves the shaft of oil. Instant failure.

    This becomes more critical in towing applications where the turbo is used constantly. I don't think a 3.0L engine is right for a 6,000 lb. vehicle, let alone a tow vehicle. And the Fuel Economy rating is no better than my 2021 1500 Hemi. I can eek out 24 MPG under ideal conditions in real world driving- 21 on the highway is easily doable.

    Yes, the Hurricane engine has more power, but it still takes fuel to make the power so FE will suffer when that power is used.

    Appreciate your insight. Your perspective on the application in a Challenger is a valid one. Vehicles additionally aspirated (I have two 335's and a Magnusoned Challenger) also get very expensive beyond warranty for those not able to perform their own repairs, even maintenance. A friend recently had a failed turbo in a Tiguan which cost him $5k to remedy. Fortunately have not had to rebuild my turbo's or supercharger but realize that day is coming at some point. Are you aware of the turbo failure you've described in the N54?
