While familiarizing myself with my 2022 challenger I found that the inner headlights only have the halos. The center is empty. Is there anything I could install in there for more lighting? Or Any other options?
Some of those had air intakes with ducting into the air filter for cold air intake. If you don't have air ducts, you could probably add some kind of lighting if you wanted.
Since we are on the topic, I thought I'd share this. I got a set of lights for Christmas. OPT7 is the brand, they certainly look cool... But, this is my review on Amazon... The good: The lights look pretty cool, and it's nice that you can set just about any color you want. The bad: They are poorly documented. There were no directions included with the kit. You had to scan a QR code and follow the link to their website and then download or print the directions. Ok, no real problem there, but the directions left a lot to be desired. They basically said, "Open the hood. Remove the plastic panels above the headlights. Stick the light strips to the plastic bezel around the headlights. Run the wires. Attach the 2 power wires to the battery." Thats it. There are 2 small black and red wires coming from the controller. No mention of what they are for or how to connect them to the car. The ugly: The only way to control these is with an app. Now, I get why you need an app to set the color. But to turn them on and off requires the app as well. So here's the process - I open the app. Then I get the message, "Permission required - OPT7 needs to track your location." I don't want it tracking my location, so I click "This time only". Then I have to connect to the OPT7 controller with bluetooth. On the connect screen I pick VR7200 then hit "Connect". Then I get a screen with a button to turn them on. This is the same screen that is used to set the color. Then I exit the app. When I get to where I'm going, I have to do this all over to turn them off. So, open the app. App wants to track your location. Hit "This time only". Pick VR7200. Hit "Connect". Turn the lights off. Exit the app. I don't get why it has to be this inconvenient. It would be much better if the lights would just come on when the headlights turned on and then go off when the headlights turn off. The app should be to set the color only - I get why you need an app for that. But why in God's name it needs to track my location is beyond me. I would not recommend these lights to anyone else. Since I wrote that, I figured out that the 2 small red and black wires are the door sense. You're supposed to wire them into your door circuit somehow so that when you open the door, the lights change color, or intensity, or something. No directions on how to do that. I thought, well maybe I can wire them into the light circuit and when I turn on the lights that will turn on the halos. But after playing with them a bit and futzing with the app, I can put power on the door wires and see the lights change, but the app won't save the door settings, either color or intensity, so that idea didn't work. In all, I'm kinda disappointed with these. It would be a good product if they didn't righteously f**k it up.
