I had a blow-out on my Goodyear F1's this morning so I'm looking for new tires. I was going to go with the Michelin Primacy MXV4 or Nitto Motivo. The guy at Discount Tire tells me the Motivo are "lower quality" but the Michelin's have been discontinued. He could probably find four but if there's a problem a year down the road, I'm going to have to replace at least two of them. They're recommending the Pirelli P Sevens or the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. The tire size I'm looking for is 245\45 20". My Challenger is a 2012. Can anyone provide any feedback on this?
I just found this where they test out 3 different set of tires and 2 of those sets are the ones you are look at. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=119 Also, whatever you decide to get, I would always get the warranty if they have them. Its saved me a few times now where I didn't have pay the full price of the tire if it was not repairable.
Great link! Thanks. At this point, I'm going back and forth on the Nitto and the Continentals. I've gotten a lot more feedback from Challenger\Charger owners on the Nitto's but ratings always seem to favor Continentals. I'll definitely get the warranty, though. Thanks again.
For anyone looking for a great (and inexpensive) all-weather tire I recommend the asymmetric Cooper Zeon RS3-A tire. It is highly rated by Road & Track, Autoweek, Winding Road and Motor Trend. The only problem is that the widest width for a 20" wheel is 245/45/20.
Did you mean 235, Tom? When I enter the tire size at the Sears website, it just changes it back to 235. It looks like this is great tire also. But they won't get to me until the 11th.
I dumped my new F1s (summer) after delivery and opted for these Falken A/S high performance from Pepboys. $200 each but they have a buy 3 get 1 free. After 1500 miles, handled great in the snow and cold we get here in NM. www.pepboys.com/mobile/products/details/600857/780
I bought a set of Hankook V12's for $553.00 delivered. A little softer than F1's but not bad. They were on closeout at $119.00 each at www.TireRack.com!
Tires Cooper makes a 245/45/20 Zeon RS3-A and RS3-S tire. Go on its website. Find another tire store that can order them for you.
I had Continental DWS tires on my '05 GTO. They were the best tires in wet weather I've ever owned. That's important down here in Florida. My only complaint was that they had a slight - very slight - tendency to "wander" just a bit . I have a buddy who raves about his Cooper Zeon tires.
Had Nitto Motivo on my previous car. I can say that they are good all-season tires. I can drive on wet roads with confidence.
