I have been compiling a list of recommended all-season tires that have excellent wet-weather traction. Here is the list: Nitto Motivo Nitto 420S General G-Max AS-03 Continental Extreme Contact DWS Falken FK452 Toyo Proxes 4S Yokohama YK580 Yokohama Parada Spec X Kuhmo Ecsta 4X Michelin Primacy MXM4
I've been running on Goodyear Eagle RS-A's 255/45R20's on all four corners mounted up on the stock SRT rims (20x9). They wear well, tread water well and are comfortable on long drives. I rotate these just like any other tire could be. The stock F1 tires were crappy in cold weather and wore out quickly. Rubber was too soft. I'll be buying a new set of rims and the rear set will be 10.5 to 11 wide to mount a wider rear tire safely. I'll be running stock rims for daily use, performance tires and rims for better looks and playing around. I might drop the rim sizes to an 18" for road coursing, better for that. Nice list Tom, glad to have you active here, a wealth of info as always.
My tire guy convinced me to try a set of Cooper Zeon RS3-A's on my '11 R/T Classic. I'm happy with what I've seen the first 5K-6K miles. The Coopers are pretty darn good in the rain and much quieter than the General G-Max tires that they replaced.
My son has the Cooper Zeon tires on his 2008 Tiburon and is very satisfied with their performance and price.
The F1 are not an all season tire. Summer only, and you font want drive in 40 degree or below with them. Wet also the aren't so great... But warm dry, can't get much better! Flinging stones and pebbles, anything that's on the road all over the car... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
