Hey guys I'm new to this forum and heck to Dodge itself as I was primarily a Ford guy. But I wanted to ask you guys your opinion on something before I make a final choice. I'm looking at getting a 2015 SXT or 2015 SXT plus. The one factor that splits them is their audio options especially the SXT Plus with the 18 speaker setup. What I want to know is it worth it for such a setup? Or is aftermarket a better choice?? I'm sticking with the V6 because this will be my first brand new car and it will be my daily driver so I'm trying to cut the cost in the short run and long run.

I made the mistake of getting the basic audio sound system and regretted it after 1yr of ownership of my 2014 SXT so I upgraded the headunit Amp and Speakers cost me more than 1500 it cost for the Harman Kardon.Plus its much harder to upgrade the stereo in 2015 and up model challengers . Just saying go for it ......

Unless you feel like adding speakers, amps, etc later I'd get the upgraded one for sure
I haven't heard a Challenger with the basic setup but my R/T has the Harmon Kardon speakers and it sounds great for being stock
    Just my opinion

    I agree :)

Upgrading the factory setup with aftermarket pieces can get pricey in a hurry. Options are becoming available to help with that though!

With that top of the line sound system with 18 speakers can you still hear it over the exhaust of the Scat Pack 392 Challenger or the Hellcat and Redeye exhaust systems?

    LoL

So I deleted the Resonators on my SRT and was disappointed,
until one day I rolled the windows down as I left work.:driver:

Yes, you can Rock Out with the Premium Sound System with LOUD Exhaust :)
At least with Classic Rock :Rock on:
:facepalm:Please don't try it with that "New Wave" crap made after the late '70's

If you can do it, go for the SXT Plus. I have a ‘15 R/T Plus and the Harmon Kardon stereo is great. I think the Plus package on the SXT is similar to the R/T. If so you get the 20” upgraded wheels and tires, dual piston caliper high performance brakes as (maybe?) the Super Trak Pack. The Plus is well worth the additional money.
(BTW, I got the “New Wave and Easy Listening Delete” option on my stereo.)

I'm not interested in the SXT Challenger after test driving it. Seems to be that most of the members on this thread prefer the smaller engine Challengers which are priced right and very affordable with higher gas mileage but I want to at least go with the SRT model with 485 horse power engine minimal which drove good and perhaps go to the Hellcat and Red Eye which I have not test driven yet.
