Hey folks - so bought a K&N CAI 69 Series Typhoon. K&N swore up and down it would fit my 2017 with the provided parts. Well that was not the case. The box would not fit due to AC and trans cooler lines obstructing the air box and bracket mounts not available. Who here has installed a CAI in their 2017 and what brand/type did you use? Thanks!!

Uugghh going through the process now with CARid. That was my first mistake. Should have stuck with Summit Racing.

AiRaid CAI installed. Def an increase in throttle response and get up.

Very nice! I wonder why the replacement part for that silencer is so expensive though.

i would just cut that silencer off and put a piece of plastic in its place using JB weld. have seen folks do that, do a good job and you cant tell.

Are you referring to the resonator on the intake to the left of the throttle body?

yes, cut that hideous thing off. find some flat plastic to make a plug from and silicone JBweld, that will hold the plug on it it and you will start to hear you intake when you push the gas...

Sounds so good without those silincers too... had a Volant paired with a Bully Dog tuner on a 2008 Ram, and ooooooh baby. That go pedal made her roarrr!

i would cut it off at the curve of the elbow. that way it will look somewhat flush. nothing sticking out that way it creates a smooth airflow. you will have an oval shape to plug up with the so called patch,
