I might be behind the times on this but I just got notification from Dodge on my 2014 R/T for a possible diode thermal fatigue failure. It shows the parts to remedy this are not currently avail. It is referring to my alternator. All efforts are being made to secure the parts & I will be notified by mail when to set up an appt. with my dealer. It should show up on Google by the recall #. T36/NHTSA 17V-435. Whats more than a little scary is how the prob. is described in hvy. black print. FAILED DIODES MAY ALSO DEVELOP A RESISTIVE SHORT CIRCUIT THAT CAN RESULT IN HEAT,SMOKE AND/OR FIRE ORIGINATING WITH THE ALTERNATOR. Has anyone else rec'd. a notice like this? It refers to an electro-hydraulic pwr. steering (EHPS) current loss if the diode failue happens.
Got mine last Friday, had a place online to add your email so they can contact you when parts are available.

Just experienced the problem with my 2012 Dodge Charger, all I can say is if you hear whistling noises , pull over . I drove about 5 miles until noises started getting really loud and all these lights lit up my dash then I smelled something burning and I shut the car and opened my door to get out and thankfully I did because I could have been locked in my car . No power , couldn't open the trunk or any other doors . Scary ! I hope my car isn't in the shop too long waiting for them to find a fix. ***I just found out the front doors will unlock from the inside , not the back doors or trunk ***
Honda sent no remedy notices for 2 years in my wife's car with the air bags. Basically said that airbag deployment would kill you. They have to state worst case in these things to reduce liability.
Has anyone heard anymore about our recall? I was hoping the parts would be available before winter set in. Mopar or No Car, Sent from my Moto G Play using Tapatalk
