AFAIK, the Blacktop Package for 2017 included the 20" gloss black aluminum rims with Goodyear F1 tires. That's what mine came with.

these cars come only with a 18" spare temp donut tire, not full size. you have the option of ordering with or with out. you can buy the wheel from your dealer but you will have to get the tire from a tire dealer, I had to do that with mine. all the mounting parts in the trunk I got from the dealer too. just one of those things. my wifes 2011 challenger SE Rally had the spare tire, again it was a 18" temp tire. it was listed on the sticker price tag.

So you can go to a junk yard and see if you can find a wrecked challenger and see if it has a spare tire in it or order the rim and find a tire dealer who can get you a temp tire.

I can actually order an 18" spare from chrysler, but they cancelled my order because they claim per my VIN that my car requires a full size spare. I don't understand why that would be. I don't want a full size spare eating up all my trunk space.

kinda a funny as they dont come with full size spares, why would Chrysler cancel a parts order? was this through your dealer or online purchase. dealer had no problem getting me the parts I needed to complete my spare tire, all i had to get separately was the tire from a tire dealer.

    Online from FactoryChryslerParts.com
They emailed me and said Chrysler specifies a full size spare only for my VIN, so they cancelled the order.

Just order from your dealer then. Cause they don't come with full size spares.

Found one on Craigslist from an 06 Chrysler 300 that was being parted out. $25. I'll call that a win.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm sure that Challenger owners are still wondering about a compact spare for their car.

I didn't think about it when I was buying the car or I would have insisted on one as part of the deal. If you are buying a new car make it part of the deal or walk away.

I did not want to pay hundreds of dollars for a compact spare so I looked on eBay and there were several sellers. The compact spare is the same from 2005 to present for Dodge Challengers and Chargers and Chrysler 300s.

I bought one for $86 including tax and shipping (wow). The spare is 27" in diameter and weighs 35 lbs. The tires on my car are 29" in diameter (Black Top 20" wheels). I'm not sure I see an issue with using it on the rear wheel for short distances. After all, the rear wheels turn at different speeds on turns.

I decided to leave the plastic tray in the trunk and use it for my scissors jack and tools and just lay the tire on a mover's blanket in the trunk. That's a big trunk.

Keeping the inflating tool as well. Depending on the circumstances in case I have to use it instead of changing the tire.

It should be mentioned that the space saver spare will not fit on Challengers, like the SRTs, with large Brembo brake calipers on the front.

In this case, a solution, for a front flat, would be to move a rear wheel/tire from the rear to the front and then install the spare on the rear.

Also, if a spare works for your car, you should secure it so that it doesn't become a missile during a severe accident.

    Except:
You don't want to have two different sized tires on the rear with POSI.

    Just call AAA :)
