I want to thank SRT-Tom for always posting informative information. A while ago he found a video showing a gentleman installing hood pins on a Challenger. I found an issue with his installation. I just installed my third set of Mopar Hood Pins on my fourth Challenger. The issue is at the end of the install the gentleman is pulling the pins towards the front of the Challenger. What I figured out was once the hood pin was mounted the pin is perpendicular to the street. When he drills the hood he is perpendicular to the hood..not the street!! When installed my latest set I drilled a pilot hole in the hood and then held the drill perpendicular to the street which started the hole slightly lower and when I checked the as alignment no adjustment was needed. Also, Mopar includes 4 grommets with the set. Not able to use grommets on top of the hood because it inhibits the adhesion on the Mopar plates.

i installed the mopar hood pins on my car , I have a Cervini fiberglass shaker hood, I measured about 15 times to make sure, before I drilled into it. but once I drilled the first hole, i just motored on through it, no fitment issues at all after the install.

Its always a scary feeling when drilling into any metal part on your vehicle. I happy your install went well!

I did the same thing installing the Res Delete kit.
Instructions said "measure 11" back from the axle"
I measured, and remeasured, the cut one side with the Saws-All
and damn, the instructions were right.
I actually cut at 10" just in case but they allowed like 4" of overlap

Is there an actual measurement as to exactly where the pins should be placed?

Since these are damn aluminum hoots,
Just mount the pins and close the hood,
The pins should go righ through.
The just mont the tops. :grd:

I actually did that on a ‘67 Correnet
Well the hood wasn’t aluminum so it just made a dent where to drill:hunter:

if you have the mopar hood pin kit , there is only one place to drill the hole, cause the bracket that has the pins on it only has one placing position.
