Weather Effects

I worked an 11 hour shift today, and when I clocked out tonight it was -32 degrees. My Challenger was parked outside the entire day, but I did start it twice and let it run for a few minutes. The only issue was that when I left, all of my tires had lost air pressure. Three are nitrogen and one is regular air as I ran over a nail last summer. All things considered, the car held up quite well to pretty extreme weather.

 

O.K. I will quit complaining about the +31 this morning in Oregon

 

It was 10 out where I live south of Pittsburgh. At Least my daily driver started right up. Glad my Challenger is stored for the winter.

 

I can't imagine temps around -37. It's a balmy -5 just south of Cleveland with wind chills below -30. I have to take the Challenger out for a few appointments this afternoon and am NOT looking forward to it.

 

Gee! It was only 62F in Port Charolette, FL today, heading back to Pennsylvania tomorrow.
Q: Is there any way one can find out which state has the highest Challenger sales? After spending all of January in Florida, I am convinced that this is the highest per capita number of Challengers of all states. Seems as though every time I turn corner I see another one (a good thing)

 

It's not even going to get above freezing here for at least 10 days.

 

I don't know how you can put up with weeks of subzero temps. It'll be up in the 50's this weekend before the next freeze set this coming week.In addition to me, saw three other Challengers out yesterday. They all had the white salt spray all over the sides of their cars. All the black asphalt roads here are solid white from all the salt pulverized into the surface and blowing around. These are thick-skinned Mopar guys.

 

As far as Challengers sold per state, maybe email Chrysler Fiat at [email protected]. They're the ones that told me my Challenger was 1 of 3 built exactly like mine.

 

I try to wash mine every week to get the salt off. I’m going to be getting a cheap winter car for next year.

 

Yup, I plan on running mine through a car wash this weekend to get the chassis bath spray. As much as I'd like to wash it myself, I think the newer car washes (either cloth or touchless) do a good job - the blowing of compressed air to dry really helps get the water out of all those concealed areas. I don't get any wax, just the wheel cleaning when they get bad. That's within days during the winter!
