Okay, so i just got a new 2012 R/T Classic Auto trans and i wanted to see if anyone here could give me any advice or suggestions on performance parts. i know the basics to improve my R/T's performance, but it still would be nice to get an feedback from people that have already modified or in the process of modifying their R/T. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

Most people start with the CAI and exhaust. Then move on to the Predator. Then they start spending the big dollars on other parts.

Of course it all depends on how much your budget is. There are alot of different mods you can add, but Storm stated an exhaust is a good starting point.

:welcome: to the forum BTW! Post up pics of your chally when you can.

Welcome to Challenger Forum, enjoy! There are many performance parts for the 5.7s, the only limit is how much you want to spend. Storm gave you the typical starting point for those with a budget. Good luck!

A company called Diablo makes a tuner called the Predator. You can tune your ride to different octanes, adjust shift zones and all kinds of cool stuff. You can set it for racing or everyday use. The price is pretty fair. Check with 213Auto or some of the other parts distributors to get an exact price.

except that it currently is NOT available for either 2011 or 2012...
they (DiabloSport) haven't "cracked the code" yet.

I just bought 392 exhaust headers and midpipes to install and already have the CAI installed...without being able to tune the 2011 and 2012's that's about all you can do.
The 392 exhaust are just like shorty headers instead of exhaust manifolds

    As you can see here

I'm in the process of polishing the headers

As stated, without tuning all you can do is add a CAI, catback or wheels/tires (could throw off speedo though). Once the CAI and catback is in you could safely add a Modern Muscle 85mm throttle body. Bottom line: very minimal hp/tq gains but better sound. Better wheels/tires will help with traction (wider for more rubber on the pavement). B&G Performance and Arrington have some options available tuning wise for 11's and 12's, call them if you're interested in further performance mods. Adding shorty's/mids without a tune can be done but you won't get the full benefit.
