Has anyone put a turbo or supercharger on the 3.6? I saw one Youtube video of a guy who put a supercharger on his and it cost him $5500 for the unit and $1500 for the install. I don't know anything about either one and have lots of questions. Are they all aftermarket parts that would void my warranty, or are there Mopar ones out there? Any help would be appreciated.
sounds about right for the cost, and dont forget the tuning also, that will cost anywheres between 500-1000 bucks too.
Well more inforced power. Plus not sure that engine can handle it without some forged parts too. And as far as MOPAR making one. Not that I know of. Only aftermarket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know Edelbrock makes one for the 3.6 in the Jeep Wrangler. I would imagine it would work in the Challenger. Edelbrock reprograms you PCM for you with the cost of the Supercharger.
You CAN'T only think one dimension. The "Drive Train", made up of multiple components , works as ONE unit. It isn't just the engine, or Tranny, or axles etc. A Company that only installs 1 keyed door lock (because 2 will cost extra $$) WILL NOT install drivetrain components that will handle "extra" horsepower/Stress that the stock engine doesnt generate. Sooooo ... adding 125-150 EXTRA HP to a DT that's not made to handle it will just cause you trouble dn the road. Everything you do effects EVERYTHING Downstream! The extra $3500+ you pay for an R/T (over a SXT) isn't just for the engine. It's for the heavy duty components/brackets Downstream from all that horsepower. So after you add that $7K Blower you can add a HD Tranny, stronger axles and bearings, beef up the mounting brackets, Control Arms, etc. This way you can have a really fast SXT for only an extra $18-25K. Or buy a SRT
Exactly Of course even us SRT fokes keep wanting more and I really wanted the brakes & suspension of the SRT
