Took to dealer . GPS was 3 miles in error. Dealer kept trying to down load upgrade . After 5 hrs. of waiting they gave up and pulled a fuse to prevent battery drain . Dealer said they would contact corp. for new radio replacement . Now it's worse than before. Driver assist is out, no GPS , No radio , Side mirrors shows constant arrow, A C is not working either . Called corporate and complained . Both said they would get back to me .
Salesman told me ,' this is a wide spread problem and there is no fix '.
I don't drive it a lot because I have a motor cycle and have less than 10,000 mile on it .

My '15 loads the update MUCH slower than my wife's '17 Durango R/T but it does finally load.

The update that you're trying to run is necessary to correct the GPS error. Seems that it fixes a software glitch tied into the time change back in October/November 2019. You can go to the Uconnect web site and download the update yourself if you don't want to make another trip to the dealership.

When I got the my car in December of 2017 it had sat mostly idle for two years so it had not received any over-the-air updates and was way behind. The first time I tried to do an update, I was trying to go from 15.XX.XX to 17.43.XX and it did exactly as you described.

Fortunately a dealer near me was able to get the update to go through. The tech at the dealer said that part of the problem might have been because I was using a 32 gig thumb drive. His theory was that the radio was trying to read the entire drive. For subsequent updates, I've used a much smaller thumb drive and haven't had any issues --- other than my radio seems to have to work harder to start the update than the radio in my wife's Durango.

The dealer said it was now between me and Uconnect which gave them a faulty update down load and fried my electronics and gave me a number to create a Star request . I called Star number and explained the whole story . Star said it's up to the dealer to contact them and not me . I gave Star the manager's name and Star called him . The manager CAVED IN and as a courtesy they are giving me a new radio / GPS . A friend had his electronics on his Ram worked on [ different dealer ] driving home it caught on fire . His dealer claimed they didn't cause it so my friend went thru his insurance co.

I have a portable Garmin 6 years of age , it works perfectly and has free updates via internet Dodge needs to dump Uconnect .

After reading all this, I checked my 15 R/T Plus yesterday and confirmed my GPS is accurate. It did do the over air update back in Oct-Nov. As much as I like FCA vehicles I must say that I've purchased the extended warranty on all the Mopar vehicles we own especially for all the electronics. I wasn't going to until I read some of the reliabilty problems and TSBs.
I got the Radio/Nav unit on my daughter's 14 Dart replaced under the contract w/o any hassle. Otherwise that event alone would have been a $1K expense. All my kids have used theirs on their Town and Country's and Grand Cherokees.

i have a 17 ram with the 8.4 radio. ever since the update a couple of months ago, at times the radio will continue to play after turning off the vehicle and sometimes it will turn off when you turn the key off and remove it. when it does stay on it will turn off about 1 minute. even after I lock the truck up and leave it.
