I'm concerned about eventual parking lot door dings. Has anybody installed the molding that's painted to match the car color? Like this.

Have you installed it in addition to belt line graphics? How did it look? Can you post photos.

I've seen ONE Challenger with door moulding added. It just didn't look right.

But I certainly understand your concern. I got dinged last month .... but it's above the rear wheel well so the moulding pictured wouldn't have protected the car.

My car had a door ding when I bought it. It was right on the seam, much higher than the molding in that picture.

Doesn't look too bad on a car without graphics but I think it might be too much of a conflict with graphics.

Hopslayer, maybe I'll just wait for my first ding and then decide. :)

I normally park away from the crowds. No dings in 2 years. :)

I can use my Crown Vic for parking lots and the Challenger for cruising.

I question how much the moulding would really help. From my experience most dings are higher than those side mouldings. They're usually from the upper back edge or a rear door of a car or SUV. Its that small area to the rear of the door handle where the door extends above the rear wheel wheel. It happens when a passenger swings the door open without looking at the back of the door for clearance. I've seen where a parent (being careful) getting a child out of a car seat accidentally bumps the door with their hip and it dings the car next to it.
The width of parking lot spaces vary too. There are some parking lots I'll never park my R/T in because the spaces are too tight. Park away from others if you can and save the money - use it toward getting a ding or two PDR'd if needed. (Paintless Dent Removal)

Week 1 of owning mine I got a ding right in the crease, dead center of the passenger door.
I seriously thought of putting these on, but am just more selective on parking spaces.

I always park at the rear of the lot.....the extra exercise doesn't hurt either.
