I have a 2014 challenger srt8 with 8k miles that I just purchased, when driving lightly nothing happens when given a little more gas u can get it to make a air whine air leak of some sort push a tad bit more and it goes away let back off and it will make the sound again, if u push the car it does not make it. The car has an aftermarket air intake and exhaust, throttle body looks to be not touched, not sure what it is all is tight around the filter intake.
Sounds like the typical rear differential noise. Sounds like pinion whine, usually around 40-50 under light to trailing throttle.
My RT had an intake air whistle or wine only at a certain RPM as it started to suck more air in. It also had a CAI kit.
That’s exactly what I’m talking about, my thought is because the CAI does not have a cover on the top like the OEM one did to really hide that noise just has a rubber gasket to the hood type, did you figure yours out or did you just live with it, also could it be a cheep CAI setup.

It really didn’t bother me at all. I found when you stand on the pedal a bit harder it wasn’t as noticeable. I assume it happens from the point the throttle body butterfly starts to open until its wide enough to stop the whistle. Now all I hear is the supercharger which is music to my ears. Ive heard many that put the CAI on their Hellcats notice an increase in the SC sound as well. Ive kept my intake stock with a K&N drop in filter for now.
Nice, I wish I had a SC to listen too LOL. Now that I had some time to research a little seems this is a common thing that happens when you put in an aftermarket CIA in. Thanks very much for the chat.
