Still having troubles with my 2009 Challenger SRT 8. I thought it was fixed but no. Miss fire on # 8 cylinder continues. Sometimes just a missfire code P0300.

New battery, coil pack, plugs , Injector on that cylinder. Sometimes car will shut off at a stop light. I only has 22k miles on it and been pampered.

Best solution for ECM replacement? Does someone have to tune it?

Not sure I'd jump to replacing the ECM so fast. There are lots of things that can cause random misfires (P0300). Crank sensors are notorious for this. Vacuum leaks as well. Has a reputable mechanic been diagnosing this issue?

Oh yeah forgot to mention, crank and cam sensor replaced. Thoght there was a vacuum leak at the PVC . It was loose . Sealed and tightened. That.
The car shutting off for no reason I have read is a possible ECM problem.

So...have you actually had a mechanic look at it or are you just diagnosing it yourself via the internet?

Yes. Doesn't have scan equipment. Valve train is ok. Other than pvc not seeing a vacuum leak. I hate dealerships.

There is a tuner about an hour away who has the equipment. I have read that these early cars had ECM driver problems.

This could be one of those situations where paying a dealership the higher cost for their troubleshooting expertise might end up being cheaper in the long run. Good chance they've run into this problem multiple times and know exactly what the cause is.

No doubt about it, I completely support the DIY method of doing most things but I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone trying to self diagnose issue via the internet, their brother-in-law or even the parts guy at Auto Zone end up costing themselves a lot more than if they had simply ponied up the cash for an honest to God mechanic to diagnose the issue. I've also seen people going it alone aggravate the situation by doing improper repairs.
