Don’t have one. Never found it necessary.

we have some areas where accidents are very frequent, and our insurance company is really going after who's at fault my wife was recently in an accident and it wasn't her fault and they charged her with 25% and if she had a dash cam the outcome might have been different.i don't really want one but it might be smart to get one

Understood, it sucks the way you have to fight with your insurance company who are supposed to be working for you.

Back when I was managing a fleet, I used to have to argue against many police reports. Most cops have no clue about how to investigate an accident and to be honest, they really don't care anyway. Fortunately, I had a great relationship with our insurance company and the body shop we used for major work. So I understand the case to be made for having a dash cam. I had one for a while but tossed it because it was a POS. Never got another because I already use a radar detector and the added clutter that came with the dash cam drove me crazy.

More like it sucks the way soo many these days drive like they own the road........and if I am in an accident due to something they did...they should pay, not me...

Rexing, with rear camera as well. Got them in every vehicle. At $100 +/- each well worth it. Sits tidily behind rear view mirror. Picture is decent quality.

never need it till you wish you had it. Try convincing anyone that someone backed into you or "brake checked" you

I know this doesn't answer the question of what brand/ model camera people are using, but, with so many people using dash cams I can see a day in the future that all cameras on vehicles will record.
I believe Tesla has models that the cameras record as well as being vision for forward and reverse driving.
Most truck fleets have cameras for in front of the vehicle, in back of the vehicle and even focused on the driver.
Cameras are a great defense tool in wrecks if the driver who has the camera is not at fault and the cameras can be great assistance to those involved in other crashes.
I say do your research and get the best camera for your money. Some are extremely clear in the recordings.
Let us know what you go with.

Unfortunately, I live in a no-fault state so the camera would have limited value.
