Is It Worth it to Mod the 3.6L?

I talked my self out of getting a R/T and putting a crate 426 to beat the Insurance Co
I like my SRT
Maybe another 426 later but happy with the 6.1 for now

 

I understand.. did the same with my 69 Camaro. I ran it a few times at a "test and Tune" night just to see what it would do and just to say I did it. I wanted to get the hardcopy time slips, I keep a copy in the glovebox as proof if questioned at a car cruise.
What you're doing isn't any different than the guys dropping pumped up big blocks in their sixties muscle cars, most don't ever run them at a strip because they're "too nice".
Remember the V8 Vega swaps? Now that was for cheap speed back in the day, dangerous but cheap.

 

I initially planned on getting coilovers, a Borla Atak exhaust and lowering my car, but decided against it because I would rather have my wider tires than a lowered car. (315/35/20 in rear). I may still explore the exhaust but I will wait until after the supercharger is installed to see what the sound is like. I already removed the resonators and swapped out the stock mufflers. If I didn’t plan on keeping this car for the rest of my life I would not be putting as much money into it.

 

That is a 31 percent gain in drag to go from 122 to 140mph.
Since drag is a function of the square of speed and hp is a function of the cube of speed, that is a 51 percent increase in power.

 

The Procharger has a rising boost curve so the torque would be reasonably manageable. For best performance, you'd want it in the highest possible RPM range.
