I'm stil not finding this Page 7685 has the code trouble shooting procedures, but the pics looks like this is all of it ? The stat is an easy change, but this sensor does not look fun at all.
You are looking at type 2015-16 manual. I have the 2017 which is what the pictures are from This is the link to it https://www.dropbox.com/s/9d0hpyaj1k66rbg/Dodge Challenger 2017.pdf?dl=0
Thank you ..got it. So the gist of it all is, I have a new in the box OEM T stat,,,,,,,change it and stop laying games with the $#%#$ 180, I can do that in 20 minutes. Clear code and drive. Being it iS at 180+ when the light for P0128 comes on, it could be the sensor....Which is cheap enough but I'm thinking that change is beyond what I can do. (I'm sure i could do it, take 8 hours and after that much faster / better) but I dont have the time.
I was under the impression you needed to tune the pcm to the lower tstat temp so the fans come on earlier and to not get error codes. If the pcm is expecting you to reach 190 or 205 w/e stock warm temperature is and your tstat opens at 180 it may not get to temp in time as the tstat prevent the sensor from getting to 190 or 205 in time...just a thought.
