If you buy new, you may not have a choice. You can simply disable it by pressing the "A" button or drive in sport mode.
I understand that in some vehicles the system can be deactivated. As long as that is possible, I’m ok.
I am presently driving a 2021 BMW 530i rental. On the dash, below the Start/Stop ignition button, there is an "A" switch that can be used to deactivate it. The problem is that on all cars, you will have to press this switch every time you start the car. The other option is to keep your car in sport mode.
I would assemble and glue a series of popsicle sticks from the Start/Stop button to wherever that "A" switch is located so every time I started the car, it would automatically disable that start/stop function. Would need to be painter black so it looks factory.
my wife had a Cherokee Laredo with it, it was okay, but easily can be turned off by pushing the button
