did my annual spring time exterior detailing on my 2009 TorRed SE last weekend. dish soap wash to strip old wax, followed by Meguires clay bar, and then Meguires NXT 2.0
I just finished doing the clay bar, wax, and buff thing. Spent 3 hours. now when I run my hand down the car, it doesn't feel remotely gritty, doesn't feel like glass either, it feels so smooth that it feels like it has soapy water on the surface. You know that slick smoothess that soapy dishwater feels like on glass? yeah that. It was getting dark when I finished.
Remember that the car is not driven much and kept clean, the clay bar went pretty quickly (1 hour) as the car probably didn't really need it. And I use a small (6") buffer to remove the wax and don't apply more than a very thin coat. I didn't do the wheels, tires, interior, or windows, just the paint.
Looks great, but if you want to take it to the next level, apply Meguires Ultimate Detail Spray. I started using this product several years ago and the results are fantastic. Look at the gloss on my SRT and son's 2008 Tiburon.
I use that as well. After I wax, I usually use the detail spray. It helps get that extra shine while getting any missed wax
