Wouldn't any more coverage cause a decrease in airflow and an increase in heat?

The mesh isn't thick enough to interfere with the airflow. Just want to prevent from replacing condensor/radiator as I have did in other cars. Same thing goes for the cars that I have had where I did have a front end cover that did have mesh built into it and didn't have to replace condensor/radiator for over 15 years.

I cut it large enough to wrap around the back side then scuffed the area where it would go, slid it into a space and then used 10 mini black wire ties in the furthers corners and then applied JB/Weld Epoxy around the area so it is bonded to the Grille.

No air Flow issues at all none, temp is same but it gives a nice look and extra protection from objects so its a double duty mod. You can get the Mesh in a few different styles btw and can cut it with a pair of old heavy duty all metal scissors. Once the weld dried up its not going anywhere.

NOPE plenty of air flow I did have some tighter opening Mesh that did seem to not allow as much air when I tested it with a fan and fog machine to see the air flow difference.
The Mesh I used is perfect....

You used those zip ties? I guess that would work.

Been on the car over a year since the Mod, no issues at all and you cant's see them. they were in the corners on each side but like I said there is JB Weld Epoxy over the Mesh on the back side between the two that Mesh wont go anywhere.

I can't imagine what that would look like. I have to see your pics if you have any with the glue and ties.
