When I detail the R/T I feel I need to drive it somewhere. Late yesterday afternoon I drove through the Winding Stairs Gap between Macon and Clay counties in far western NC. The angle of the sun made for some nice photos. It's a wonderful area to retire. We live just 15 minutes away from where these photos were taken. You have to like rural though, plus Jan/Feb are cold and nasty for the most part.
We are going to have to get you a GO-PRO so we can see some Cornering Action https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gopro-...f-action-camera-black/6365359.p?skuId=6365359
An endless cycle of 'clean, drive, clean'. Nothing will ever be as bad as cleaning 'love bugs' in Florida though. 90+ degree temps and that STINK are unforgettable. If you didn't get them cleaned off quickly, the acids from their bodies would etch into your paint. Yes, western NC sure is a great area for drives as there is very little traffic and the 'twisties' throughout the mountains here in the Appalachians are endless. Getting all the suspension upgrades was high on my list when I bought my R/T.
I didn't forget but the colors are not good this year. No frost yet which is very unusual. The leaves are staying green or just falling off. Here are some photos near my home anyway. Nothing different at the higher elevations. Some color but so-so at best. *** Sorry about the double photos but I have no idea what I did wrong.
Thanks, still beautiful to look at. I haven't taken a fall cruise yet. Even in NE Ohio, leave are just starting to change colors. They're calling for a lot of rain and wind this whole week, so I think they'll be off the trees before the colors can really be enjoyed.
