For me, no as I remember when a barrel of oil was over $100. I would not stop driving my R/T even if gas was $10 per gallon, but I also drive just 3,000 miles per year in each car. If I needed the car for daily driver use or 20k miles per year, ouch, that would hurt :help:
Let's hope gas does not even reach $5 per gallon but things aren't going well at the moment. We have really noticed inflation at the grocery store as well as the gas pump.

There's not a lot I can do about gas prices. I'm grateful they're not as high as in many European countries.

When I graduated high school gasoline was about $0.65 per gallon. (And minimum wage was $2.30 per hour.). That $0.65 in 2021 dollars is about $2.93 per gallon. Which is pretty darn close to the $2.97 sign I saw yesterday. (BTW ... the 2021 minimum wage in Florida is $10 per hour ... which would have been $2.22 in 1977.). It's all relative.

Back when I had my '05 GTO gas prices went on a climb shortly after I bought the car. I remember hearing a financial adviser explain that the fact the economy would support higher gas prices meant those prices weren't necessarily a bad thing. He said that the prices were going up because of demand for more gasoline because people had the money to travel. That's a pretty rosy spin ... but there is a modicum of truth in there.

^^ Definitely true about money and travel, especially since folks were cooped up with the Covid crap. The national parks are really feeling it with so many travelers. Gas would probably have to hit the $5 mark to see a slow down.

We have been paying $4.04 for premium this entire year,
    So What.

    But then I get 19-20mpg with my M6 6.1 :)

I paid $3.06 at Costco in Minneapolis last month. I actually get BETTER highway mileage in my V6 since I added a supercharger. From Fargo to Minneapolis and back I set the cruise at 76mph and get over 30mpg. Fargo Costco 92 octane has been $3.26 per gallon for weeks and recently dropped to $3.24.

Well 89 Non Ethanol was 1.59 a Gallon up to Jan 20th, now its 3.79 here so its about 39.00 per fill up. Which sucks when your on Disability only up side is the SXT gets 30mpg.
If I still had my 2007 Blazer it would get a whopping 16mpg on Hwy and 12.5 in city with a 4.2 Vortec id be in a world of hurt.
