Just bought a 21 1320 Challenger... Same engine as my charger scat.... I use VP octanium in the charge with 93 octane gas. Anything wrong with using it in the 1320. Plan on racing it at the track... bobbymac

In general, 87 octane is good up to about 9.5 to 1 compression, 91 octane is good up to about 10.5 to 1, and 93 can go up to about 11.5 to 1 - if the motor is properly dialed in. So, an octane additive would only be necessary for compression ratios higher than 11.5 to 1.

Thank you for the info... I believe the scat auto is 11 to 1... Funny but the book says recommend 91 octane. Probably because some states only have up to 91 octane.
Maybe you can clear this up for me. Read an article about octane and new vehicles.. As it read - The vehicles engine computer can compensate 4 octanes + or - from advertised octane. As a scat is 91 I would presume the ecm will compensate for at least 94 VP Octanium. I only add 16oz per full tank.. Hey whats a little boost...
Just me - this 2021 1320 squats down and halls ass....
Thanks again for taking the time...

    The 392 has 10.9:1 compression.

Got ya SRT-Tom - You know more then I. But!! If a octane in the tank was 1 or 2 higher gained a 1/10 or less is a win. I win... Not a rich guy but for a half a can what the hell.... I guess I will find out next year... Time to by a trailer... thanks again bobbymac

Given the well documented systems problems that develop from their use (10 minutes online reveals a great deal), their questionable performance benefit for the targeted masses, and their cost, not something to be poured into any of my girls!
