So when you need a complete brake job you are better off going to an independent repair shop over the dealership?:snoopfacepalm:

These giant brakes stop this land yacht in a hurry, and that comes at a price.

Well like anything else I bet you can make those brake pads and rotors last on a SPWB if you aren't real hard on the car. I understand being 4,200 lbs. doesn't help but one doesn't have to contribute to higher wear rates. Sure panic emergency stops when necessary will stop the land yacht is what counts but I am sure you can make those pads and rotors last longer at $750 for each rotor.

I am TR6060 so i use the shifts and do not drive aggressive. I expect at least 50k miles out of them, hoping for 80k. By then i hope to have the electric version though.

You have an manual so I would expect everything on your brake system to last long. When I had a manual on another manual trans car 3,500 lbs I went 10 years without changing brake pads rotors and resurfacing drums. Now with the recent vehicle I have probably the same 3,500 lbs to 3,300 lbs. with auto trans I got 75,000 miles 15 years old before I had a complete brake job done with rotors and pads at dealership for $1,600.

It sounds shocking that those rotors are $750 a piece.

Is there an aftermarket OEM rotor that can be used instead?

I don't think the above will be an issue for me since I don't drive much just that as previously mentioned but when the time comes for the complete brake job it sounds over whelming.

I have not dug in to the specifics yet as my car only has about 8k miles.

    Well keep us posted.
Perhaps someone else out there knows about the if there are aftermarket OEM rotors that are available and work just as good as factory ones?:33:
